Hey guys,
I've been very frustrated with my new R4i card, I've not been able to get it to work in any way, shape or form despite doing everything I think possible. Now I'm wondering if maybe my card is just broken, maybe you all can help me figure it out.
I'm using an R4k gold card V1.4, linking to www.r4i-gold.com for the firmware. I've used two seperate micro sd cards, one 8gb sdhc card (which was included) and one 2gb regular sd card. Both have been formatted and reformatted to FAT 32. I use a Nintendo DSi XL version 1.4E, I bought it early 2010.
I've tried multiple kernels from multiple sites on both cards, different versions (1.30, 1.31, 1.32 and even one named 1.4).
Sometimes it doesn't register the card at all, sometimes it registers but shows up as a blank cartridge. When I load the cartridge the screen reads tells me an error has occurred and refers me to the manual. Normal games work just fine.
I've tried it with and without games in the system (copied into the root folder as instructed).
So please; help!?! Do you think it's busted or is there an ace in the hole you can show me?

Hi there,
From what you say - it seems that you have tried most things! It seems likely that the R4i Gold card is faulty, it would probably be quicker if you send it back for a replacement.

hi, everyone, i have an R4 gold upgrade revolution for ds card v 1.4 with super mario on the front of it, im trying to get it to work in my neices dsi, i managed to get onto the R4i gold.cn website and downloaded the software for it which was : ENG.rar which had BEUP, moonshl2, NDSMAIL, plugins, skin, svsip, SYSTEM, controls bin, iLL.iL, TTMENU.DAT, TTMENU.SYS, on the menu, but i cannot get this card to work in the dsi, is there more software that i have to download to by pass any nintendo firmware? or do i need to download a different 1.4 software package to get it to work?
Can anyone give me any tips on how to get this to work pls as it is a much wanted birthday present for her and i do not want to dissapoint her thanx.
