Hi,
I just got a R4i Gold for my DS. I've used R4s in the past and think they are great. However I can't get the Gold to work. I've downloaded the software and it seems to be working fine until you go to load the games and then you get the error "Please upgrade the hardware for support latest firmware."
As far as I was aware the Gold could be used with any console. As I said mine is just a DS.
I bought the R4 from r4i.co.uk and this is where I downloaded the software from: http://www.r4i.co.uk/r4.
Have you any ideas?

is you sd card a newer one, and is the ds a fat one or a ds lite.the gold is supposed to work on all ds systems

It's the older fat DS. I got the SD cards as part of a bundle with the R4i Gold. It says on it HC 2 if this is any help. I've tried some older versions of software on the card but it doesn't load anything. Just shows a picture of a card and says menu in it.

hate to tell you that the fat ds does have problems running the r4 gold card. your sd card is new and the right kind.

if the card says that its supposed to work an all ds i would contact there support threw email and ask them about a ver of there flashcart that work right for the fat ds

I have purchased two cards from same source using DsLite with FAT32 format on the cards. Same problem. Contacted the helpdesk. Iget the same error. Faulty card?

what is the url/web site located on the card and or box? that site is the kernel that is needed for that r4 card. also the sd micro mem needs to at least a class 2 or higher, no generic sd really work for the r4. dont for get to follow the instructions on the web site for you card.

Have a look at the url on the package of your card.
Is it www.r4ids.com?
The latest r4ids gold kernel can be downloaded from www.r4idsn.com.
The version is V1.34.

choose r4ids gold English kernel-1.34 or r4ids gold S-Chinese kernel-1.34.
