Hi guys , hope you can figure this one out for me! we have 4 ds lite in the house of varying age,I bought an r4 upgrade revolutionSDHC for each from r4i.co.uk and downloaded all .However the cards work perfectly on two of the consoles but are making an unusual grating sound on the other two The r4 logo appears distorted and they will not give you a menu of the games but put you straight into the first game Really confused Can you offer any advice please as I unfortunately am not very computer literate Thanks

Hi thanks for the quick response I dont think age is an issue as one DS is only 6 mths old and the other 2yrs old but the 2 Ds they work on are 4yrs old and 2yrs old? I have tried re formatting and downloadind everything from scratch but no joy What is strange is the card worked fine on the older unit but then went blank so I redid it but the prob persisted!

Yeah its a strange one - you should contact r4i.co.uk and ask for a replacement just to rule out that the issue is with the R4 - if it happens again with a new one then you know its the DS's - The customer service at r4i.co.uk is not supposed to be any good but they should replace it if you tell them what is happening....

Hello,
We are new to the R4 world and have a really upset son because we cannot get past the white screen star wars problem. I have learned that is because we need to get software from the relevant URL to make it work . Problem is it is a R4i Gold upgrade revolution (Mario version) and the url is www.r4igold.cn The info I have found so far says that the url is no longer valid and the cards are not to be sold after Sept 09. So how come I have just bought one from what I thought was a 'reputable' suplier and more importantly how do I identify and get the software needed?

what ver of the kernel did you download, the English ver download for me but i dont have that kind of r4 card. if nothing works for you i would suggest that you return the card and buy a different one from another place, one with a different web site on it, im sure that if you troll this site that you can find a good place to but a working r4 card. you are trying to use this card on a dsi or dslite or fat ds, i assume that its a dsi.

Using it with a DS lite, no kernel downloaded yet cos , like I said , the relevant URL website is no longer active, so where do I go to get the right kernel fo a R4igold.cn - must be a version floating around somewhere!

r4igold.cn is letting me download the english ver of the kernels it seems to be working just slow. keep tring the web sit if that fails i can email you the kernel that i downloaded from that site.

Hi,
Need help, I gave it up. I've spent 4 hours to figure it out but I can't. I've downloaded the R4i
English V1.24b Date:[2010-7-15] version to the sd card and when I put in always says MENU?. I've tried with different sd card as well. The result is always the same. Any idea?

whats the web sit on the card say? are you following all the instructions to the tee, unzip them to a folder then open the folder select all items then copy to the root of the sd card?
