At first it was working i bought it brand new from www.r4ishopper.com which seems to be a legit company. So i got it working then i put games on and i made a save and ever since then it hasnt been right the DS doesnt even detect it in the slot. Ive formatted the memory card and just put the latest kernel on without a games folder and it still wont work i cant understand whats wrong.

after you formatted the sd card and did you your reinstall of the kernel does the ds tell you that there is no game in the slot. if thats is the case then the r4 card is shot and you need a new one. contact the shop and try to get a refund or a new card.. i have had the problem too with my first card got it to work then it just crapped out on me.

Yup exactly that so i guess its shot  ill have to wait until monday and ring the company

with my card that died the compony shipped me a new one at the price of shipping and handling but thats cause they are an over sea company

Hi can anyone give me some info on this problem
I have a R4i gold card and it was working fine then it was dropped, now the the DSi wont recognise there is a card in the slot.
The dsi will recognise an original game card.
I have fomatted the card and installed the latest kernal but it still does not recognise the card.

It does sound like you may have damaged part of the elements within the card itself. Please try removing the DS card form the game slot and blowing firmly into the slot. Re-insert the card ensuring it is seated correctly. then turn your console on. If it still does not work them I feel you will need to purchase a new card....
