Please could you help? My son has traded in his ds for a dsixl. From what I have read dstti cards should work on the new dsixl, so I tried my dstti card in his dsixl and it doesnt work. The card works fine in my dsi. I dont understand how this is happening as as far as I was aware the dsixl is the same as a dsi only with a bigger screen. The message on the screen says An error has occurred. Press and hold the power button to turn the system off. Any help will be gratefully recieved.

Hi,
The difference is that his NEWER DSiXL has the latest firmware installed from Nintendo - I am guess your DSi is older than 12 months and therefore has the slightly older firmware - you can check this from within system settings. The newest is 1.4E. Basically DSTTi and other R4i type cards, made before Nintendo Firmware 1.4E was released do not work on it. All the latest R4i and DSTTi cards will work though. Your only option is to buy a new DSTTi as that will be compatible with the DSiXL.
Just so you know - if you update your DSi using System Update that DSTT will not work on your DSI afterwards either...
If you want some recommendations of where to buy DSTTi cards that WILL work on the DSi XL let me know...
