my daughter has been using her r4 for over a yr, out of the blue the other day it just did not work, everytime she tried to load it the screen went blank and o nthe top screen the word menu in red appears
is there anything i need to do or can do get this back to working?

sounds like you need to change the firmware

Hi,
It sounds as though one of the key system files has either been inadvertently deleted or has been corrupted somehow. Your best bet is to copy all YOUR files to your PC and reformatting and re-installing the latest kernel yourself. Make sure you download the latest kernel from the manufacturers URL printed on your card.

Thank you so much for replying, i visited the website, www.r4i-sdhc.com and clicked on the kernel upgrade link, i am in Uk, so would it make a difference if i was to click on usa?

Hi, I've got a recent prob with my daughter's R4i Upgrade Revolution card V1.4. It was working fine and had been for some time but it suddenly started to hang when she hit the button to select her card. I've done all the usual recommended things; downloaded and replaced the software, formatted the microcard. Now it doesn't even display the list of games on the card she just gets a black botton screen. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Andy,
It sounds as though your R4i card as developed a fault, you have tried all the usual things and other than those there is ot much else you can try unfortunately. First thing to replace would be the micro sd card, see if another works, if not then replace the R4i.....

Hi,
I have been downloading free nds game on my edge software. Lately none of them seem to work. Although I have downloaded the latest edge software and I always update it.
Pls advise

Cheers m8, I've tried a different micro card; same prob. I've now ordered a new R4i Gold card, hope that does the job!
The reason I initially posted is because i thought Ninetendo may have issued an R4 'fix' and blocked the cards. Thankfully no mention on any forums.
