Ok, so I just bought a R4i SDHC gold, and it has the r4ids.com site on the box, but the site won't pull up. Is there any other place I can get the correct software?

I spoke too soon. I can get NES games to work, but I can't get DS games to work. Would that be a problem with having the wrong software?

If the software was wrong then the r4i would not work at all - I've seen other posts on this site about the card you have. Something has obviously happened to the manufacturer as their website has seemingly gone for good 
You really could do with the latest software - but not sure where you will be able to retrieve it from - have you contacted the vendor of the R4i card? Where did you buy the r4i from?

I got it from www.leetmod.com and I did send them a message yesterday explaining that I couldn't get the software since the site is down. Hopefully they'll have an alternative.

This firmware works on the r4ids and you should have no problems using it in DS, DSL, DSI
There are other firmwares for other cards on this site also.
