I've updated my Dsi xl to version 1.4.3E firmware. Since doing so my dsi is telling me "An error has occurred. Press and hold power button to turn system off. Please refer to the NDSI operations manual for details." I'm using a R4i gold revolution for Ds. Everything worked fine until I done a system update. From what I've read Nintendo have put a block on R4 cards. I realise now I shouldn't have updated but it's too late for that now. Is there any way round this?? Please help!!! Thanks, Kenny

What you will need to do is go to the manufacturers website for your card and download the latest software kernel to resolve this issue.  Format your micro SD card and transfer the kernel over.  You will then need to"update/flash" your DS card in a console running an earlier software,  the DSlite is ideal for this on any software version.  The update cannot be done on the console running v1.4.3 as it blocks your card and you cannot get into it.

There are some great help guides out there,  I like this one from r4ishopper.com, it should be a similar process for your card -

Good luck :-)

Hi...I accidentally  updated my R4I-GOLD PRO card...I updated it in R4 Wood menu when you go to settings in the down right corner, then tools and update and now It gives a black screen with error "An error has occurred. Press and hold the Power Button to turn the system off. Please see the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for help troubleshooting."...I tried to put it in a NDSi XL with v1.4E and it show up the same error...what should I do now? Can it be fixed? Or can I fix it with a Firmware writer that you get with the R4I Gold Plus Deluxe Edition?

I have followed all the steps to set up on the forum (very clear and precise) but still get the dreaded message:  An error has occured.  Press and hold the POWER Button to turn the system off.

I have a 3DS with 4.4.0-10 E version of software.

I have a R4I SDHC 3DS card that has the web adress www.R4I-SDHC.com on it.  On that web site it states that R4I-SDHC 3DS suport V4.4.0-10 with firmware V1.63b which I have installed to the SD card using winrar after formatting it with the SD formatting tool.

Help please.  I am stuck! Crazy
